After qualifying as a dentist in 1988, Penny spent time living in Manhattan and Moscow, finally settling in 1998 in Tel Aviv. Her passion has always been jewellery, especially jewellery that makes use of precious and semi-precious stones with precious metal. Penny studied silversmithing in Israel, and draws inspiration from the bold and colourful designs worn by the women that she sees around her.
Penny enjoys all aspects of the creative process. Her favourite part is searching for stones that will eventually turn into a unique piece. Sometimes the vision of the finished piece is clear in her mind, and other times it flows organically as she works around the stone.
Penny grew up locally in St. John’s Wood, and always admired the beautiful artwork offered at the Cecilia Colman Gallery. After studying silversmithing, it felt natural for Penny to approach the gallery, and is happy that she can still be a part of the St. John’s Wood scene!
